FRIENDS EDITION · PRIVACY NOTICE
Your memories.
Your choice.
This is a small, invite-only sake journal. Other members cannot access your journal or photos. The app operator and infrastructure providers can technically access stored data as needed to operate and support the service; this is not end-to-end encryption.
What is stored
Your account email, membership status, tasting details, ratings, notes, chosen dates and locations, and resized photos. Sign-in cookies are used to keep you logged in; the app has no advertising or analytics trackers. Limited authentication, request, and error records may be retained by our providers for security and operation.
Where it goes
Render runs the app. Supabase handles accounts, the database, and private photo storage. Supabase verifies your password. Password recovery is handled privately by the operator; this edition does not send login emails. When you choose photo analysis, a resized photo is sent to OpenAI. We remove embedded metadata first and do not send your journal, email, or ratings with it. Text visible within the image is still part of the image, so crop anything you do not want to share.
Photo location is optional
Photo date may prefill a tasting. GPS prefill is off unless you enable it for a scan. The uploaded original reaches the app server for processing, but is not written to storage. Stored photos do not contain EXIF/GPS metadata. A location you choose to save becomes part of your journal.
How long data stays
Saved journal records remain until you delete them. Deleting a tasting also removes its photo if no other tasting references it. Unused scan photos are removed by the operator's scheduled cleanup once they are over 24 hours old (normally within 24–48 hours). Account sessions expire after seven days. Backup copies may persist until their configured retention period ends; deleting from the live app does not immediately erase backups. OpenAI applies its own API data retention rules even though response storage is disabled in the request.
Your controls
Use My journal to edit or delete a tasting and export its records. Account settings let you sign out on all devices or erase all journal records and photos. Exported JSON contains photo references, not the image files. For a full photo copy, account deletion, or a privacy question, contact: Peter, through the private conversation where you received your invitation. The app operator will remove storage objects before deleting your account and invitation record.
Security and limits
Hosted connections use HTTPS, login is managed by Supabase, and both the app and database restrict access to the owner. AI scans have usage limits. These measures reduce risk but cannot guarantee security. Do not upload sensitive documents or images of people without their permission.
This notice describes the friends beta. If providers or handling practices change, the operator should update this notice before making those changes.
